I begin my day with a cup of coffee and taking "Prince Oli" on a simple walk around the neighborhood. Summer is my favorite season & I enjoy my surrounding garden of colorful perennials; the bright, tropical Hibiscus being my soulmate. The garden surrounds the home I own in Lafayette Falls, a suburb of South Bend, decorated in a beachy, get-away style that uplifts my spirit all year round. I like watching all movies, enjoy a variety of music, am ready to take up new hobbies and like to learn new skills. I am kind, determined, creative, and deeply passionate in whatever direction my plan goes for the day. My former life as an educator, for 29 years, centered around middle school students. I’ve learned to wear many different hats, have enjoyed my mentoring of students and being qualified as a high school exchange host. There are lots of great things about Carol’s Cottage, but Oli is definitely high on the list. He’s friendly and always says hello, but he’s got things to get done that day, too - walks, food, showing the stuffed toys in his own play area who’s boss, and loyally following around his owner. Pets and snuggles are always welcome, though. It can be hard to be away from your people and your home (or in between the places you call home) for a long time. Pets like Oli improve your mental and emotional well-being in those situations (it’s science, you can look it up!) - just one more benefit to staying here. Not a dog person? That’s okay - neither was Carol until she met Oli!
